Digg iPhone App Coming Soon!!! – Accidentally Confirmed By Kevin Rose
I have actually been waiting for the official Digg iPhone app for a very long time. Have been using Shovel [Free, App Store link], an iPhone app which brings Digg to iPhone all this while instead. But Shovel doesnt allow voting, thereby limiting Digg’s power to a great extent.
Let me quickly come to the point, Digg’s founder Kevin Rose accidently confirmed during a recent interview that Digg is going to come up with an iPhone app soon. Found this info on ReadWriteWeb.
How did the interviewers end up catching a glimpse of the application? Eriksen wrote us today in an email, “We were sitting next to each other, and he had his iPhone in hand. I was turning to him to ask him a question when I saw him playing around with the app.”

Pantone unveils color studio app
Designers who work with color a lot are very familiar with the Panton color chart. The company has unveiled a new iPhone app that puts the full range of Pantone colors onto the smartphone.

The app is designed for graphic, digital, multimedia, and fashion designers needing color pallets wherever they go. The Pantone color Libraries and the Pantone matching system for coated, uncoated, and matte stock are all included in the app.
The user can snap a picture of a scene or object with the camera and the app will provide the closest pantone match for colors in the image. Colors can also be exported to design applications like Creative Suite.

The Best Camera iPhone photo sharing app supports Twitter, Facebook, more
Our photography obsessed friend Chase Jarvis has been in touch to let us know about his new iPhone app, The Best Camera. Â Intended to make taking, tweaking and sharing images more straightforward, The Best Camera offers a palette of on-device camera effects, and links in with an online community of the same name.

As Chase explains, "the best camera" refers to the fact that whatever image-capturing equipment you have on you is the best at the time; for many people, that means their iPhone, iPhone 3G or iPhone 3GS. Â With The Best Camera app, you can take photos, add effects (see below) and then share them on the social site, via your Facebook and Twitter page, via email, or simply save them into your camera roll, all from within the one application.
Chase has also published a book intended to show off exactly what's possible from the iPhone's camera, and with tips as to how to make the most of it. Â The application can be downloaded here [iTunes link] while the book is available from Amazon.

You Can Easily Edit Videos On iPhone 3G Itself
If you are on OS 3.1 and not happy with the way battery gets drained in few hours, dont worry, Apple will soon release a new firmware and sort it out. There is something good about 3.1 firmware which I would like to share. Along with Genius feature for App, you can now Edit Videos easily even if you are on iPhone 3G. And there is no need to jailbreak your iPhone either. You dont need 3GS to get this cool feature.

(image from Gear Live)
For this feature to work, you need to first upgrade to 3.1 firmware and then 1. Email a video to your iPhone email account. 2. Save the video to your camera roll. 3. When you run that video you will be able to edit it easily and save the changes. Simple.

100’s of iPhone users who upgraded to OS 3.1 seem to be facing Battery issues
If you are one of those thousands of iPhone users who upgrade to OS 3.1, you might have felt that your iPhone needs more rounds of charges as compared to previous OS version. This is happening due to OS 3.1 guys. For a change Apple has acknowledged this issue and Apple is contacting some affected customers as well to diagnose the root cause of this issue. Wired mag covered this news as well:
In Apple’s support forums, nearly 500 posts complain about the iPhone’s shortened battery life after upgrading to iPhone OS 3.1. The AppleCare help desk is contacting some of these forum members with an 11-part questionnaire, according to The iPhone Blog.
The questionnaire includes queries about possible power suckers such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and push e-mail. Question 10, for example, reads, “When you notice a power drop, does it seem to be a legitimate power drop, or rather an issue with the battery icon indicator?â€
Thankfully I havent yet upgraded to OS 3.1 as I dont know Genius feature for Apps. I surely know what kinds of apps is good for me
. Anyways, coming back to this issue, there is no clear solution for this issue. Apple should release another firmware sometime soon to solve this issue. Till then you could try this out: Doing a clean wipe of the iPhone might help. You will have to go for a complete Restore. A painful proceedure
